About Sachi

I grew up in Arizona among the cacti, creosote and stunning red rocks, and am now living near the beautiful beaches of New Zealand - in the city of sails.

I have been married to my Australian-raised kiwi husband for a dozen years now (!!!), and we have two boys and two girls whom I teach at home.

I turned 30 last year and am looking forward to the child-rearing duties lightening up enough for me to take up creative pursuits such as blogging, playing guitar, and breaking out my drawing pencils and paintbrushes which have been gathering dust for the last 10 years since my kids were born.

I’m still trying to figure out what I want to “be” when I grow up. I can’t commit to one thing because I want to do it all … but then I end up being a master of none. Oh well, I wear my jack-of-all-trades badge proudly!

In addition to sharing my opinions, playing guitar, drawing and painting, I am also interested in illustrating children’s books, thinking of ideas for political-style cartoons, debunking nutrition fads, following US politics like a sport, creating elaborate routine charts that never get used, and learning everything I can about semi-useless topics that peak my curiosity.

I also started a yoga teacher training course recently, and although I am not an especially fitness-conscious person (translation: I’m a total couch potato), I especially enjoy learning about the spiritual and philosophical side of yoga.

I was raised in a Vaishnava (Hindu) family and am attempting my best to raise my own family with values that will be conducive to cultivating our love for God.

We try to engage in prayerful meditation each day – in solitude on prayer beads (japa meditation), and together as a family singing the names of God (kirtan meditation) – which are the heart and soul of my life.

This blog will give you a little insight into the joys and chaos, triumphs and challenges of my life, as well as a bit of offbeat humor, which may or may not be your thing. I’d love it if you’d stick around for the journey.

Namaste,

Sachi
